Central Dialysis Centre (CDC) is a modern haemodialysis treatment centre that renders world-class haemodialysis services to Patients in the Accra-Tema metropolitan area and its environs in Ghana. Patients’ welfare is paramount in CDC’s operations. Therefore cleanliness and infection control is our utmost priority in the safe and efficient delivery of our treatments. CDC offers, among others, a clean environment, skilled and helpful staff, assurances that all our equipment and accessories used for treatment are modern, reliable and safe.

Our responsibility to meet high standards
To provide our Patients with the dialysis treatment that are within acceptable levels of the medical community standards, and which conform to international regulations, we
- Provide dialysis treatment which is in keeping with current guidelines.
- Provide availability to a nephrologist, a physician, nursing, dietary, and technical staff to meet our Patient’s needs and monitor the quality of care.
- Practice Universal Precautions and other procedures to prevent or control infections and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Assure that CDC staff will respond to problems which may occur during treatment.
- Maintain our equipment to assure safe dialysis treatment.
- Ensure that our staff participates in continuous quality improvement efforts and programs.
Our responsibility to keep our patients informed
We believe that we need to educate not only our Patients but also their family members about kidney disease and its treatment. To that end we
- Inform our Patients about our dialysis facility and all of its relevant policies.
- Assist our Patient’s physician in providing you with information about your kidney disease.
- Invite our Patients to participate in all decisions involving long term planning, and revise or update at least once a year.
- Review and update our Patient’s Dialysis Care Plan monthly.
- Review our Patient’s treatment choices for dialysis therapy periodically.
- Teach our Patients what to do if there is an emergency during dialysis operations.
- Teach our Patients what to do if there is a disaster and you cannot get your usual treatments.
- Provide our Patients with some nutrition counselling services.
- Assist our Patients with some arrangements for treatment if they wish to travel.
- Schedule our Patients for treatment at the hours most convenient for them within our ability.
- Identify where services can be obtained that we do not offer and assist our Patients when possible to obtain them.
Our responsibility to respect the patient and their family
We treat all our Patients with respect, consideration and dignity. To that end, we
- Maintain the confidentiality of our Patients communications and records.
- Assist our Patients in solving any problems related to their treatment that they bring to our attention.
- Do not retaliate against our Patients if they wish to make a grievance.
- Provide a mechanism to enable our Patients to communicate with each other, staff, and management.
- Tell our Patients about major changes in our facility management and practices.
- Attempt to get our Patients on and off the dialysis machine within 45 minutes of their scheduled time, and if we can’t, to give them an explanation
